Bret Achtenhagen’s Seasonal Services provided landscape architecture and landscape construction services for this unique residence located in a prestigious golf community in Waukesha County. We constructed a grand entry staircase with cut limestone walls and piers that accentuate the main residence. The driveway design features a gracious arrival area with large bluestone inlays at the front entry to the home, in the motor court and in the porte cochere. Our firm designed two stately entry monuments with iron gates which welcome guests to the residence. The rear of the villa has a two-tier bluestone terrace which is surrounded by colorful gardens and great views to the nearby fairway. An outdoor kitchen/bar structure with bluestone table and counter surfaces is equipped with a 48” Wolf grill and provides for a great place to unwind and relax.

Garden plants include many specimens, including 30 foot European lindens, Cornelian dogwoods, magnolias, a 20 ft. five stemmed tree lilac, and several expressive shrubs and perennials. Our firm assisted in the selection of the granite fountain, we recommended and sourced the bold oil jar urns, and we provided distinctive annuals, perennials, vines and topiaries for other containers and garden bed areas. Additionally, we designed and installed fully zoned landscape lighting and irrigation systems.

The majority of this challenging project had to take place between late May and early July, as the residence was to be a fundraising site for the Muscular Dystrophy Association In the end, the difficult deadlines were met, the project stayed on budget and the newly landscaped residence was fully ready for its busy schedule of tours and showings – all being held for a great cause.
