General Function: 

The Landscape Installation Irrigation Technician works as a skilled team member under the supervision of the Landscape Installation Irrigation Foreman. In this role, you will contribute to the creation or refurbishment of outdoor irrigation and lighting systems for both commercial and residential landscape clients.


Essential Duties:

  • Utilize hand and power tools such as shovels, trenchers, chain saws, and other necessary equipment to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of irrigation and lighting systems, including transformers, timers, wiring, fixtures, and water features.
  • Clear job sites of debris and trash to ensure a clean working environment.
  • Aid in loading and unloading trucks and trailers as required.
  • Demonstrate pride and quality workmanship while completing installation jobs efficiently.
  • Engage in physically demanding tasks consistently throughout the workday.
  • Maintain and care for company equipment, tools, and vehicles.
  • Collaborate closely with the Landscape Installation Irrigation Foreman and Apprentices on project installations.
  • Safely operate all power tools and equipment in accordance with operating instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Represent the company with integrity and professionalism at all times.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in job skills and potential for career advancement.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, following direction as needed.
  •  Attend training classes and seminars as directed by management.
  • Meet scheduled deadlines without compromising on customer service or quality.
  • Assist the Landscape Installation Foreman in providing direction, training, and monitoring of team members when required.
  • Ensure team members adhere to company policies, safety protocols, and procedures.
  • Wear appropriate gear for protection against the elements and safety requirements.
  • Monitor vehicle and equipment fluid levels and ensure proper functioning before use.
  • Drive company vehicles to job sites, transporting team members, materials, and equipment as needed.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the company by performing assigned duties effectively.


Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in horticulture or construction field.
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, detail-oriented, with strong time management skills.
  • Punctual, dependable, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to work weekends and overtime hours when necessary.
  • Basic knowledge of plant identification.
  • Familiarity with landscape and construction techniques, practices, and terminology.
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of materials, tools, equipment, and procedures used.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals of varying backgrounds and skill levels.



ADA Considerations:

  • Physical demands include continual movement, lifting, and operation of machinery.
  • Exposure to various environmental elements and chemicals.
  • Ability to work full-time with extended hours and weekend work.


Education: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent


License:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean record (meeting insurance requirements)
